A hassle-free meal for friends

veg’ N patties with spaghetti and hot tomato sauce

Ingredients (for 2–3 portions)
ca. 30 min
One package yields about 15 patties (2–3 portions)
veg' N patties ready-mix
1 package
Spaghetti
250 g
Tomatoes

Canola oil

Onion

Garlic

Tomato paste

Chilli powder
1/8 t
Salt
1/2 t
Herbes de Provence
2 t
Yeast flakes
5 t

Preparation of the patties with the veg’ N patties mix

Thoroughly mix packet contents with 200 ml of boiling water. Let sit for 15 minutes. Then, stir lightly and, with wet hands, form the batter into 4-cm-wide patties.

In a frying pan:
Cover a frying pan liberally with oil. Fry the patties over medium heat until golden brown.

In a deep-fryer:
Heat a deep-fryer to 320 °F (160 °C). Deep-fry the patties for about 5 minutes, until golden brown.


Preparation of the spaghetti:

Cook spaghetti until "al dente". Strain, rinse and put them aside.


Preparation of the hot tomato sauce:
Dice and sauté tomatoes and put them aside. Now, sauté the onions and the clove garlic until glassy. Add the tomatoes. Add tomato paste and stir well. Season with salt, chilli powder and Herbes de Provence to taste.

Serve veg’N patties with hot tomato sauce over spaghetti.
For a cheesy taste, sprinkle with yeast flakes.
